The Garant shoe chain, with 80 stores in Norway, has chosen to focus on ZetaDisplay solutions for digital active information and advertising in its stores. The solution is based on two displays, one for a campaign centre and the other at the checkout. The campaign display carries information about new products, while the one at the checkout is aimed at increasing sales of products in the vicinity of the checkout, such as impregnation products, shoe polish or cream, and laces.

Garant Nordic A/S is responsible for the Scandinavian market, with stores in Norway, Sweden and Finland. Garant Nordic is part of the German shoe company Garant Schuh + Mode AG which altogether has more than 5,400 stores throughout Europe. The agreement concerning Digital Signage applies in the first place to Norway.

The Garant chain is a co-operative partnership in which the members manage the purchasing. It is therefore important for the continued development of the chain to have joint marketing of its products in the stores. Suppliers to the chain look upon this as very positive, and want to purchase advertising on the displays that are in the stores. This helps to finance this solution, which makes it very attractive for stores to join in.

This is in many ways a win-win solution. The suppliers have a new way of selling and marketing the products in the stores, and the stores will have a new, centrally located campaign place that will create increased awareness of the products, thereby increasing sales,” continues Einar Marthinsen.

Installations into the stores will take place in the fourth quarter of 2009 and the first quarter of 2010.
